I fondly recall my grandfather sharing tales of the remarkable intelligence displayed by horses, asserting that they employ their minds even more than humans. As a farmer with a stable of horses, he conveyed a deep admiration for these creatures, sparking my enduring fascination with them. This passion motivated me to embark on a journey, spanning a year between England and Belgium, during which I sought to encapsulate the captivating essence of horses through a curated collection.

Horses, predominantly reliant on their keen sense of sight, often have their facial expressions overlooked. However, upon close observation, one can discern that their facial movements bear a striking resemblance to those of humans.

For me, it became a paramount endeavor to capture the very core, the palpable sensations, to engage in a direct gaze and convey their emotions and thoughts. I harnessed the power of dramatic lighting to provide a stage for the horses to express themselves, to communicate. This time, my approach was focused on listening to them.

The resultant series of images aims to unveil the genuine and innate beauty concealed within these magnificent creatures. Amidst the interplay of lights and shadows, they appear increasingly human-like, offering a glimpse into the profound connection we share with these extraordinary beings.
